Dr. Taylor Fitch-Smith is a practicing Physician Assistant with diverse clinical experience in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics. She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in English and Biology from Wofford College, a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Francis Marion University, and a Doctorate of Medical Sciences from Northern Arizona University in 2025. At 19, Taylor began volunteering with OneWorld Health, serving in Uganda and Nicaragua with a focus on sustainable healthcare models. These experiences, together with her early work as an EMT for Charleston County EMS, shaped her understanding of how home life, finances, and environment profoundly influence physical health. Drawn to a holistic model of care, Taylor pursued a career as a Physician Assistant with a focus on rural medicine. Her doctoral studies further deepened her commitment to influencing practical healthcare policy within her community and clinical sphere. In 2019, inspired by her brother and a desire to be part of something greater than herself, Taylor joined the South Carolina Army National Guard. She now serves as the medical officer for the 263d AAMDC, integrating her military service, first responder background, and clinical expertise into her leadership role as a board member for Palmetto Front Line. Outside of medicine, Taylor treasures life with her husband, CPT Ryan Smith, their daughter Savannah, and their two dogs, Indi and Layla. Together, they enjoy traveling, exploring new cultures through food, and cheering on Savannah’s athletic pursuits. Taylor also finds joy in her local CrossFit community and in teaching yoga, believing that true wellness is found in the harmony of movement, connection, and community.
