Programs and Services

At Palmetto Front Line Foundation, we are dedicated to serving the brave men and women who protect and serve our communities. Our programs are designed to address the mental, emotional, and physical needs of veterans, active-duty military, and first responders across South Carolina. Whether through suicide awareness events, outdoor retreats, or mental health support, our goal is to provide life-affirming resources that promote healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Explore our programs below to learn how we make a difference in the lives of those who have given so much for us.

01.

Suicide Prevention and Intervention Training

Our suicide prevention and intervention programs are at the core of our mission. We believe that early intervention, community education, and peer connection can help save lives. Through various partnerships, we provide essential training to military personnel, first responders, and community members who are able to support those at risk. These programs empower individuals to become part of the solution, ensuring that suicide prevention is an ongoing community effort.

02.

Outdoor Therapy and
Recreation

For many veterans, active-duty military members, and first responders, time spent in nature offers powerful opportunities for healing, connection, and renewal. Our outdoor therapeutic programs provide non-clinical experiences designed to support mental and emotional well-being through meaningful activities in the outdoors.

These programs are intentionally crafted to reduce isolation, build camaraderie, and create space for personal growth in a relaxed, natural setting. Activities include:

Eligible participants can attend at no cost, and in some cases, family members may join for a small fee. Whether it’s sharing stories around a campfire, learning a new skill, or simply enjoying the peace of the outdoors, these experiences offer a vital path toward recovery and resilience for those who have served.

03.

Never Forgotten Gatherings

Never Forgotten is a community-based program designed to support veterans, active-duty military, and first responders- especially those living in rural areas of South Carolina. These informal, recurring meetups offer a relaxed, welcoming space where participants can share stories, build friendships, and find support among peers who understand the unique challenges of service.

Held in accessible community locations, these gatherings foster meaningful connection and a sense of belonging - something that’s especially vital for individuals who may feel isolated or disconnected. Sometimes, the most powerful healing begins not in a clinic, but over a simple conversation and a cup of coffee.

We are currently looking to grow our network of volunteer leaders who are passionate about bringing this mission to their own communities. If you’re a veteran, first responder, or supporter who would like to help host Never Forgotten gatherings in your area, we’d love to connect with you.

Community Outreach & Engagement

At Palmetto Front Line Foundation, community is at the heart of everything we do. We remain deeply connected to the people we serve — veterans, active-duty military, and first responders — by actively participating in local events, building strong partnerships, and offering ongoing support where it’s needed most. At the same time, we’re proud to offer multiple ways for individuals, businesses, and organizations to get involved in our mission.

How We Stay Involved

Community Events

We show up where it matters — at local gatherings, awareness walks, educational forums, and family-friendly events — bringing people together to share experiences, build relationships, and raise awareness around suicide prevention and mental health in the front line community.

Partnerships with Purpose

We collaborate with nonprofits, businesses, healthcare providers, and government agencies across South Carolina to expand access to resources and create a stronger network of support.

Advocacy & Education

Through public outreach, educational campaigns, and community initiatives, we work to raise awareness of the unique challenges facing those who serve — breaking the stigma around mental health and pushing for real change.
